Naturally, before we proceed, we need to have support for the ESP32 Arduino core on the Arduino IDE. The installation instructions can be seen here. Generating the compiled binary for an Arduino sketch is really simple, since we can do everything from the Arduino IDE. The first thing we need to do is choosing the correct board we are targeting. To do it, simply click the Tools menu of the Arduino IDE and then select your board in the Board option, as shown in figure 1.
After selecting the board, click the Sketch menu and select the Export compiled Binary option, as illustrated in figure 2. After clicking that option, the compilation and exporting procedure should start.
After the procedure finishes, the compiled binary should be available on the sketch folder. You can easily navigate to the sketch folder by clicking again on the Sketch menu and selecting the Show Sketch Folder option, like shown in figure 3. The with bootloader hex is bogus. If you use my core, except for the chips where we can produce a bootloader-included image that works ie, ones that use a bootloader and have hardware bootloader support - most dont and use virtual boot if you use the optional serial bootloadet, which rewrites 2 of the vectors when writing the sketch, so the with bootloader hex wouldn't work , it deletes this non-usable hex immediately.
DrAzzy thanks for the response. I figured the hex with bootloader was pointless, but I didn't know it wouldn't work. I do use your core. Thanks for all your work on it!

I added an "Export Compiled Binary" command such as the one in the Arduino IDE but currently not in the Arduino CLI which copies the compiled binaries of a sketch in the sketch folder. I know it's possible to get them by setting the output parameter in blogger. com but at least it adds an alternate option invokable directly by its command and not requiring to keep the full build.
